Direct current motors of all shapes and sizes are used in motor vehicles and many consumer goods. The contact carbons are mounted in brush guides on the holding plate.
The function of the revolving automatic machine is to mount the compression spring. The springs are fed and separated in flexible tubes. The springs are pre-tensioned and fixed in the brush guide during assembly. In subsequent stations, bending punches close the locking clips of the brush guides.
Quality is monitored in a testing station by recording the force path curve of the carbons in the brush guide. This reveals, for example, whether the carbon jams or whether the spring has been mounted correctly. A removal handling device places the finished holding plates either on a transport belt or in the reject bin.
